'Black Manta' Actor, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Lands Leading Role In 'Matrix 4'

Congratulations are certainly in order for acclaimed actor, Yahya Abdul Mateen II--

With a professional career that's been in the works since 2012, the American-born actor (and architect!), has been on the come-up in Hollywood.

Famous for his roles in Netflix's "The Get Down", and blockbuster hits such as "The World's Greatest Showman" and recently, for his roles as Lupita Nyong’o’s father in 'Us', and as the character of Black Manta in 2018's "Aquaman", Mateen's latest endeavor will have him starring alongside the award-winning (and everyone's favorite, wholesome internet boyfriend), Keanu Reeves, for the anticipated 'Matrix 4'.

Back in August of 2019, Warner Brothers announced that the latest installation in the long-running 'Matrix' franchise was currently in production; with director Lana Wachoski holding casting calls for the lead role.

As of now, any and all plot information surrounding the upcoming 'Matrix' film is being kept under tight lock and key; however studio executives have confirmed that the Wachoski script is "strong". The film is scheduled to officially begin production early 2020.
